Mary Kay Zuravleff, cofounder of NoveltyDC, is the author of American Ending, an Oprah Spring Book Pick inspired by her grandparents, Old Believers of the Russian Orthodox faith. The novel is a gritty, darkly humorous tale of immigration, a worldwide pandemic, and who gets to be an American citizen–100 years ago. Her third novel, Man Alive!, was a Washington Post Notable Book of the Year, and her first novel, The Frequency of Souls, won the American Academy’s Rosenthal Award and the James Jones First Novel Award. She lives in DC and has received numerous Artist Fellowships from the DC Commission on the Arts, including for 2024.
